Whatever the reason, I’ve lost count of how many times my friends (locals and visitors) have asked, “Do you know a good photographer?” And trust me, after testing several photographers through trial and error, I’ve learned which ones are worth booking.
It turns out that Bali has no shortage of incredible photographers—wedding specialists, adventure storytellers, and even those artsy film-style ones.

If you’ve been in Bali long enough, you know weddings here have their magic—sunsets at Uluwatu and barefoot vows on the sand. And if anyone knows how to capture that magic, it’s Gusmank.
A couple I know wanted a natural feel for their wedding. At the same time, some moments felt subtly directed with breathtaking results. Gusmank captured golden hours, happy tears, and perfect waves.
But what I love most about Gusmank’s work is how he keeps the colors natural while still delivering polished images. I appreciate that he doesn’t over-edit, so the photos maintain that straight-from-the-camera feel.
Many clients also praised his quick responses to queries. He even provided alternative spots around Bali, such as Kelingking Beach and Campuhan Ridge Walk, which is a major plus for me.
However, his packages range from IDR 3M to IDR 8M. Honestly, they’re not the cheapest, especially for those on a budget.

“I planned to do proposal to my girlfriend during our anniversary in Bali on August and I searched for a photographer from google. One thing I love about Bali Image Photography is how they turn even the most chaotic moments into stunning shots.
I met a couple in Canggu who booked them for a family session, worried their hyperactive toddler would turn it into a disaster. They expected chaos and blurry shots, but somehow, the photographer turned it all into art—beautiful and authentic.
I also genuinely admire that they cater to families and offer various packages for weddings and even holiday tourists. For the holiday package, I like that you can easily tag them to capture great photos, be it at Kelingking Beach or Monkey Forest.
Plus, they offer reasonable package rates. Considering their high-quality images and credentials as a member of the International Society of Professional Wedding Photographers (ISPWP), it’s a deal.
But their demand has a downside—securing a last-minute booking can be challenging. That’s why booking a month before your desired date is a must.

What’s even better is that their packages don’t end in travel photos. They have weddings, engagements, and family portraits that start at IDR 2M. To me, that’s a reasonable rate for the quality and professionalism you’ll be getting.
Speaking of quality, I admire their editing style. They lean towards bright and vibrant, enhancing Bali’s stunning backdrops without going overboard.
However, I find the lack of transparency in their pricing on their website inconvenient. Some clients shared the same sentiment when they had to email or call just to get the starting rate for a package.

Dreams Studio Bali makes every shot feel like a scene from a film. I’ve seen their work at weddings and pre-wedding shoots; there’s always this cinematic feel. I like how their signature style leans into deep shadows, rich tones, and raw emotion.
Plus, their packages are pretty impressive. They not only offer wedding packages but also have sessions for authentic Balinese experiences and business shoots.
In fact, one client gave high marks to them for completing the post-production promptly and professionally during a corporate headshot session. To me, that speaks to their value.
